Terror funding case: NIA asks J&K Govt to search Parra’s properties in Srinagar
1/8/2021 11:40:33 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 8: Notwithstanding repeated threats being given by former chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, the National Investigative Agency (NIA) is going to establish links of party’s youth wing president Waheed Parra’s in terror funding.
After getting vital information during interrogation, the NIA has asked the J & K government to collect all details about the properties of Parra in Srinagar for further investigation in the terror funding case. After getting a communication from NIA, the office of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar has issued a communication to officials seeking details about the properties of Parra in the district.
“The Superintendent of Police NIA headquarters New Delhi vide letter no/ RC/01/2020/NIA/ Jammu/127 dt 4 -01-2021 has requested to provide movable or immovable properties owned or possessed in district Srinagar in the name of arrested accused Waheed ur Rehman Parra... In this connection you are requested to furnish a detailed report in the matter after proper verification in the light of Revenue records immediately. The matter be treated most urgent in view of investigation,” reads the letter.
Parra was arrested by NIA, a day after he had filed his nomination papers from Pulwama in November, for allegedly getting in touch with Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists seeking support for PDP president and former J&K chief minister Mehbooba during the Parliamentary elections. Parra won the DDC election as a People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) candidate.
NIA has charged that Parra had paid money through suspended Deputy SP of Jammu and Kashmir Police Davinder Singh, who has already been arrested for ferrying terrorists from Srinagar to Jammu. Mufti had termed the allegations against Parra baseless and fabricated.
• Mehbooba’s blue-eyed boy Parra was picked by NIA on November 23 for questioning for his links with terror group Hizbul Mujahideen.
• On November 25, Parra was formally arrested by the NIA in the same case.
• NIA produced Parra in Court and got 15 days remand for further questioning of PDP youth wing president.
• On December 22, Parra won election as DDC member Pulwama.
• On December 30, raids at the residence of Parra were conducted by the agencies.
