UDA J&K joins farmers’ protest at Singhu border
1/8/2021 11:30:32 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 8: United Democratic Alliance, Jammu and Kashmir has extended support to the ongoing farmers’ protests against the Centre’s new farm laws and it’s Co-Convenor Jaswinder Singh (Kuku) joined the agitation at Singhu Border.
Convenor UDA J&K, Rajiv Mahajan hailed Co-Convenor Jaswinder Singh (Kuku) for joining farmers’ agitation and said, “We extend full support to farmers who are demanding the withdrawal of the three Central farm laws.”
Thousands of farmers from Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan are camping outside Delhi demanding the repeal of the new agri-reform laws, which they claim will lead to the dismantling of the minimum support price (MSP) system
Extending support to farmers' protest across the country, Rajiv said Jammu and Kashmir being agricultural state will suffer immensely due to the new farm bills introduced by the BJP government at the Centre.
“We back farmers' demand to scrap the three pro-corporate farm laws rammed through undemocratically by the BJP central government in parliament in September 2020,” he said.
Agriculture is the backbone of Jammu and Kashmir’s economy and these new farm bills will hurt the interests of farmers in the region like in rest of the country, he said.
