RDD Ramban directed to fulfill targets with stipulated timelines

RAMBAN, Jan 28: In order to accelerate the developmental activities in rural areas besides providing more job opportunities to rural masses affected due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam convened a meeting of officers of Rural Development and Panchyati Raj Department, here today. Besides reviewing the schemes and activity-wise progress of the works being executed by the RDD, the DC stressed upon the officers to redouble their efforts to ensure overall development of rural areas which would change the socio-economic status of the rural masses. The meeting was attended by ACD, Zameer Ahmed Rishu, DPO, Sunil Bhutyal, Executive Engineer, REW, BDOs and Engineers of the department. In order to achieve the targets fixed , The Deputy Commissioner set a deadline to achieve the target under different components including timely payment, employment generation, works completion, updation of dashboard, Tribal Area Plan, Geo Tagging of Assets and clearance of delayed compensation. The DC also directed the BDOs to complete approved works of different departments including Youth Services and Sports, Agriculture and Education taken up under convergence plan. Earlier, in a powerpoint presentation, ACD informed that a total 3676 works of different nature out of approved 4621 works under MG-NREGA have been taken up by the department. He also presented a status of the progress made by the department under flagship and various other schemes and sectors which include MGNREGA, PMAY-G, SBM, 14th FC, FTO generation, completion of works taken up, registration, sanctioning and geo-tagging of PMAY houses etc.The DC directed the BDOs to ensure timely payment of wages in favour of the job card holders as also completion of targeted works on priority basis.
