DC Doda leads bike rally to promote Road Safety awareness

DODA, Jan 28: District Development Commissioner, Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode, today led a bike rally organised as a part of the Road Safety Month and to promote the road safety awareness in the district, especially among young generation.
The grand rally, organised by the Motor Vehicle Department(MVD) in collaboration with Bhaderwah Development Authority, witnessed the participation of over 100 bikers from within and outside the district, including female bikers.
Senior Superintendent Police, Mumtaz Ahmed; Additional District Development Commissioner, Surat Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhaderwah, Rakesh Kumar; Chief Executive Officer, Bhaderwah Development Authority, Dr Rajinder Khajuria, ACD Doda, Prem Singh Chib and ARTO, Kuldeep Singh were also present at the flagging off ceremony.
The bike rally started from Sports Stadium Doda and culminated at Teligarh Bhaderwah, covering a distance of around 35-40 KM.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC congratulated all the bikers for participating in the awareness rally and urged them to become ambassadors for spreading road safety awareness in every corner of the district.
The DDC appealed all the road users especially young people to follow all the necessary precautionary measure while driving which includes wearing of helmet, seatbelt, to avoid rash driving etc. He said this rally is also dedicated to those who have unfortunately lost their lives in the road accidents in last one year due to negligence.
Earlier, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, said that the main motto to organise the rally was to sensitise the young generation about the road safety rules. He said the figures show that majority of the road mishap victims are the Youth and through these awareness rallies they are being sensitised to follow all the precautionary measures while driving to save the precious young lives.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhaderwah, Rakesh Kumar, CEO BDA, DY SP traffic also spoke in detail about road safety awareness and tourism promotion in the district.
