Expedite The Pace
1/28/2021 11:35:45 PM
The vaccination drive to get rid of COVID-19 has already commenced in Jammu and Kashmir, but the pace at which it’s being carried out is making people restless.
In the first phase 1,12,893 health workers are to get the COVID-19 jabs. But the speed has been slow as in 12-days nearly 20,000 have been vaccinated. It means that the first phase will take a longtime to get completed if the pace is not expedited.
It has been nearly a year now since the people have been fighting COVID-19. Life has not returned to normal completely as the fear of virus is still prevalent. Experts are of the opinion that herd immunity can develop only after the maximum of the people get vaccinated.
The pandemic during the past one year killed lakhs of people across the world and also devastated the economy. But now, the new dawn has broken out and people are waiting eagerly to move freely.
At present ball is in the court of the administration as the helmsmen have to ensure that the vaccination pace picks up.
The authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have already announced that the schools will reopen next month. But before children go back to schools, they have to be vaccinated. They can’t be sent without being provided with a shield.
According to the studies children can get infected at school and spread the virus to parents and grandparents at home who are more likely to develop severe disease.
The children can also transmit the virus to teachers and other staff at school. During the pandemic it was observed that more adults were affected by the Covid-19, but children certainly are not immune.
The way things are shaping up it seems that in coming days, the vaccination drive will gain momentum and it’s likely that the vaccines would become available in the open markets also. The final battle to get rid of COVID-19 has commenced. The last assault has begun and the war will be won very soon. But life cannot return to normal till everyone gets the COVID-19 jab. Helmsmen are putting in all the efforts but they need to give more push to it so that people start moving around any fear or threat. The COVID-19 has held us hostage for a longtime now. But now, the time has come for it to go and leave human race alone.
