EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Feb 8: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) today called on Managing Director JPDCL/JKPTCL PDD Jammu.
Led by Sachin Tickoo, General Secretary along with Ashok Kumar Dubey, Vice President, Er MP Singh, Provincial Secretary, Rajeshwar Jamwal, Provincial Publicity Secretary, Yash Paul, Organizing Secretary, Vipul Sharma Treasurer, the delegation apprised Managing Director JPDCL/JKPTCL of the important points related to work scenario of the field staff that had been projected for immediate redressal which were pre-requisite for bringing in turnaround of JPDCL.
The delegation said that the assets being managed by the JPDCL are enormous and the staff constraints are very well known to the management.
The Reorganization committee report at time of unbundling into corporations had called for creation of Divisions, Sub Divisions and accordingly increase in manpower down the line. While a meeting of Board of Directors JPDCL/JKPTCL should be convened urgently and recommend the creation proposals strongly at the level of Junior Engineers.
The delegation demanded annual maintenance contracts at the Circle levels, instead of the Division level while empanelments should be invited with detailed modalities as existing in neighboring states so that reliable contractors having rich experience of the Distribution field participate and works of emergent restorations are handled in most professional manner.
A fair transparent policy is much needed to be implemented in JPDCL from top to bottom, giving a fair chance to every employee to perform and deliver being revenue driven corporation.
While the unbundling had been envisaged with an objective of running the corporations in a professional manner however it happened otherwise and the autonomy and decision making powers of the Executive Engineers has been compromised and in the works of emergent nature it is impossible to meet the all the provisions as sought by the disbursing officers.
Managing Director, JPDCL/JKPTCL, Nasib Singh gave patient hearing to all the issues and promised their early redressal.
