Restore statehood back to J&K: ex-DyCM Tara Chand

JAMMU, Feb 8: Former Deputy Chief Minister of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Tara Chand, while addressing a huge gathering has urged upon the Central government to restore statehood back to Jammu and Kashmir.
The former deputy chief minister was addressing the Congress workers at border village Sainth in Khour which was attended by hundreds of Congressmen.
While speaking on the occasion, Tara Chand urged upon the Central government to restore statehood back to Jammu and Kashmir.
He also extended support to the ongoing farmers’ agitation and demanded repeal of the farm bills.
Tara Chand further said that the unemployment is at its peak due to the anti-youth policies of the government and demanded more job opportunities for the local youth.
He said that unemployment is raising depression and stress among young generation which is committing suicide frequently.
While commenting on the development scenario, Tara Chand said that development is at snail’s pace in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir following which poorer are even not getting work and are unable to meet the both ends of the life.
He further said that inflation is also all time high. “The continuous increase in rates of petroleum products is major reason behind inflation which needs to be curbed”, he added.
He also raked up the issue of those engaged by the government on need basis/daily wages and demanded a comprehensive policy for their regularization.
In the end Tara Chand thanked Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Gulam Nabi Azad, for raising many burning issues pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir on the floor of the House.
Others who attended the meeting include Narender Sharma (Secy PCC), Suram Singh (Vice President DCC Rural Jammu), Pt Dwarika Nath (Chairman BDC), Block President Pargwal, Khour, Samwa and Khara Balli, Madan Lal Sharma, Bharat Priye, Bodh Raj, Prabhu Singh, Om Prakash, Sarpanches, Panches and members of Municipal Committee, Block Office bearers and other delegates.
