2/9/2021 12:07:08 AM
Early Times Report

Kishtwar, Feb 8: In another tragic fire incident, 2nd in last 24 hours, two story building housing Sanaullah Son of Ahmad and Iftikar Son of Sanaullah gutted in a devastating fire incident that broke out in village Sounder of Dachhan late last night.
Confirming the incident to Early Times, DDC member from Dachhan Pooja Bhandari said that it is unfortunate that two back to back fire incidents took place in his constituency as a result of which six families rendered homeless.
She said that despite such fire incidents took place in the area since last several years, the government fail to establish fire service station in the area added that Kishtwar is 90 KM from Dachhan while around 20 KM distance is to be covered by foot due to non availability of road in the area. She said that though administration is providing some relief to the fire effected families- but that is not sufficient and can’t be replaced with the homes lost in tragic fire incidents.
She said that the government should stock fire extinguishers in the area so that same could be used in case of emergency.
She said that once the DDC will be formed, she will seek sufficient funds for establishment of fire services stations in remote areas of Kishtwar viz Marwah, Dachhan, Chatroo, Padder, Nagsini, Drabshallla, Bhunzwah, Palmar, Warwan and Thakrie.
“We lose several homes to fire tragedies during winter in whole Kishtwar District- we can prevent such tragedies if we established fire service stations or simply in some areas stock fire extinguishers- let us think towards all this” said Pooja Bhandari
