Delimitation will help to remove discrimination: Kavinder
2/9/2021 12:08:33 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 8: Senior BJP leader & former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Monday observed that the delimitation exercise will end the alleged regional discrimination and give ‘fair play’ a chance to satiate the aspirations of all residing in J&K.
Addressing a meeting of party leaders here, Kavinder said that the time has gone when lopsided decisions by those reining the power corridors rule the roost in J&K. He said that delimitation of constituencies will brought in fairness and only fairness with no room left for prejudice of any sort. The senior BJP functionary said that those political entities which sabotaged the delimitation process to take undue benefit by unleashing injustice against selected regions will now have to face those people who had suffered without any fault of theirs.
“The delimitation process without any doubt will ensure equal and balanced political rights to all regions and sub-regions of J&K,” said Kavinder and added that this will put to rest all claims and counter claims of partiality, bias and prejudice in the UT.
He said that after the successful culmination of delimitation process the alleged gross injustice towards Jammu region by the previous National Conference governments through inequitable delimitation of assembly constituencies will end for once and all. He expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his nod to this utmost necessary exercise of rationalizing constituencies in the UT of J&K for removing long pending grudges of people. He said that whatever good is going on in political arena of J&K and even in Ladakh is due to keenness of PM Modi, who on several occasions has himself announced that J&K is his priority and he will leave no stone unturned to improve political culture here.
Kavinder asked those residents of J&K who were skeptical about evenhandedness of the aforesaid process to rest assured that things will be accomplished in an extremely fair manner. He said that improper segregation of constituencies has been used by parties like National Conference as an alibi to suit their convenience at the cost of the interest of common man and after completion of delimitation process only fairlay will rule the roost with no one getting any undue preference or prejudice.
