BARAMULLA, Feb 18:: One more person has lost his life today as five persons had sustained burn injuries in an unfortunate fire incident that happened in Sultandaki area of Uri a few days back. Police have registered an FIR into the incident and started investigation.
According to reports, a few days back the devastating fire incident that happened in Sultandaki area of Uri has taken one more life today and the death toll has reached to four.
As reported earlier, at least five persons had received burn injuries in a massive blaze in Uri, among which three family members lost their lives. Some mischievous elements had set a forest on fire in Sultandaki area of Uri in which five persons sustained burn injuries on Feb 7.
The injured were identified as Sajid Ahmad, Abdul Rasheed Khan, Roshi Begum, Wahid Ahmad and Mafad Ahmad.
Sajid Ahmad died earlier, while Wahid Ahmad succumbed to injuries at Srinagar hospital on February 14.
Wahid’s mother, Roshi Begum lost the battle for life on Tuesday while her husband Abdul Rasheed Khan succumbed today at Srinagar hospital.
Meanwhile, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Uri, Junaid Wali said that it has minutely been observed that those trespassing wooden areas of Uri and adjoining parts resort to light fire there, which often lead to tragic incidents that not only damages green-gold but also prompt wild animals to infiltrate into residential areas.
The recent devastating fire in Sultandaki, Uri in which 4 persons lost their lives, occurred due to lighting of fire there by few mischievous elements. Police had already taken strong note of it and had lodged an FIR in the incident vide no: 17/21 US 337, 435,305 IPC dated 17/02/2021.
Besides, a manhunt has been launched to nab the perpetrators whose mischief led to loss of precious lives.
It is hereby informed that whosoever will be found involved in such incidents onwards, would be strictly dealt under law, SDPO Uri added.
