Govt employees fail to attend duties, roaming at Jammu

Jammu, Mar 5: Several government employees including teachers posted in rural areas of Kishtwar District instead of attending their duties are enjoying their holidays at Jammu fun much to the disappointment of the people who are suffering due to their conspicuous absence from their duties.
As per the details available with Early Times many teachers have failed to join their duties in Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan and other far flung areas of Kishtwar district and instead of attending their duties, they were openly seen roaming at District Headquarter at Kishtwar while some at Jammu.
Several government employees who were posted in the far flung areas with no internet connectivity could be seen active on social media making political comments on various posts updated by political and social activists criticizing government policies as well as political leaders.
It is not only teachers who were seen gathered at various tea stalls in and around bus stand Kishtwar and at ever busy Shaheedi Chowk Jammu, Janipur, Bhatandi and Sunjwa at Jammu, the employees posted in other departments can also be seen roaming in city areas depriving the people from the legitimate rights since people are suffering due to their continues absence from duty.
“Our schools are closed— our offices are closed— everything is at standstill in Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan” said a resident of Marwah calling upon the government to initiate action against such employees.
“I was surprised to see many employees doing private businesses— running shops at Kishtwar— locals of Marwah at Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan— who had authorized them— hospital equipments are being used as personal tools in Marwah at private establishment— who will rein them in,” said another local from Marwah calling streamlining of the system in these areas by developing a mechanism.
“Let Kishtwar administration conduct surprise checking in these far flung areas— they will understand the plight of the people living in these areas” said the locals added that 13 major government departments were found locked during surprise checking by SDM Marwah last month.
