KP Sabha convenes meeting of community members, discusses prevailing situation

JAMMU, Mar 5: A meeting of a cross section of the KP community was convened by the KP Sabha under the Chairmanship of its president K K Khosa to discuss the prevailing situation in the Union Territory of J&K and its impact on the pending issues of the community which have been hanging fire for the last few decades.
Heads of many important KP Organizations along with some prominent members of the biradari attended the meeting. Valuable inputs were given by the participants who raised pertinent questions confronting the Community and gave valuable suggestions on how to move forward do ensure that the Community interests are served in right earnest. All the participants expressed their concerns that even after 31 years of being in exile the future of the community continues to remain uncertain.
There is still no roadmap on the core issue of our return and resettlement in the land of our forefathers, Kashmir. The members were very much concerned that further delay in our resettlement will prove dangerous for our very survival as a distinct ethnic minority.
The members said that in order to safeguard our identity we shall have to redouble our efforts and also persuade the Govt. to take concrete and viable steps to resettle the KP’s back in the valley there was consensus on a few important matters out of which the most important being the forging of a unity amongst various organizations and composition of a core committee which could deliberate at length on the core issues and arrive at consensus so that the Govt. would be pressurized to expedite their resolution.
Those who expressed their views on the occasion include R. K. Wangnoo, Kuldeep Khoda (Ex-DGP), B L Saraf, Chandji Bhat, Sanjay Pandita, R L Pandita, Sundri Lal Koul, Ashok Dhar, Upinder Handoo, R N Raina, Anil Bhan, Vikram Koul, Desh Rattan Pandita, J L Raina, V K Raina and Ashok Braroo. All the members of executive body of KP Sabha were also present.
