Mayor kick starts development works

Jammu, Mar 5: Continuing his endeavour to provide better development & civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta mayor alongwith Narinder Singh Jamwal , chairman Public health sanitation Committee, Parmod Kapahi Chief whip BJP in JMC /councilor of ward no.14 kick started the upgradation /construction work of deep drains in lane No.2 Bhagwati Nagar Jammu.
Kishore Kumar Executive Engineer, Vijay Kumar Gupta Assistant Executive Engineer, Sunil Kumar Gupta Junior Engineer of division-II and other supervisory staff of engineering, transport & sanitation wing as well as prominent inhabitants of the ward were also present on site.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that it was the long pending demands of the locals as due to dilapidated conditions of the drains, the dirty water overflows and enters in the residential area in every rainy season and causes great loss to the precious household articles of the locals and the concerned councilor has taken lot of initiatives for this particular development work in order to minimize the sufferings of people.
He further said that renovation work of the deep drains of approx. 155 meters length has been started today by the engineering wing of JMC with an allotted amount of Rs 21.37 lacs only and directed the concerned to complete the work within the stipulated time frame by applying best quality materials for its long durability.
Later Mayor also inaugurated the commissioning of water cooler as well as High mast light at Gurudwara situated at Sec-14 Nanak Nagar Jammu on the demand of the sangat who comes in large number at this religious place on daily basis and faces much inconvenience due to non-availability of proper light and water facility & the councilor has taken a keen interest in providing the two basic facilities for the welfare of the devotees.
Sardar Jagmohan Singh president, Sardar Surjeet Singh Secretary alongwith other representatives of the Gurudwara as well as Rajesh Kumar Executive Engineer, Ashok Kumar Sharma Assistant Executive Engineer, Rocky Churia Junior Engineer and other supervisory staff of Division IV were also present during the inauguration function.
