SAMBA, Mar 9: District Administration Samba felicitated the birth of girl children with the objective to value the girl children in the society, under its Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign in its mega awareness programmme , here today.
District Development Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kour, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jitender Mishra, PO ICDS Anu Bhel.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that Beti Bachao beti Padhao campaign is working with the three-dimensional approach including prevention of gender biased sex selective elimination; ensure survival and Protection of the girl child and their education and empowerment. He further said that celebrating birth of girl child in the family is a promotion of way of life that encourages the new mindset to accept equality of genders and gives equal opportunities to girls and boys in education, health and nutrition.
He also asked all present to become harbingers of change against gender biases present in the society by empowering girls and ensuring they create rightful niche in the society. |
