Chairman PHDCCI calls upon Principal Secretary I&C

Jammu, Mar 10: A delegation of industrialists led by Rahul Sahai Chairman PHDCCI, Jammu Chapter, met with Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce , Ranjan P Thakur (IRTS)
The delegation thanked the government for the recently announced New Industrial Development Scheme-2021 and hoped that the policy would help industries in the UT and give boost to its economy and uploaded Principal Secretary that Existing Industries need to be at par with New Industries as an investors coming from outside to UT , Ranjan assured that they will be taken care off Submissions made by the delegation include opting Chairpersons of both Jammu as well as Kashmir PHDCCI Chapters as members of Export Promotion Board , submitted document on provision of mentoring & facilitation and guidance to entrepreneurs and also submitted a proposal for diagnostics study of industrial estates of J&K and reminded him for early clearance . Sahai highlighted issue of levy of export duty of Rs.3.07 per litre to beer / liquor manufacturing units in J&K also highlighted that because of this duty Local units having investment of 100 crores are getting sick , Principal secretary assured delegation that he will look into the matter at the earliest
He suggested industrial land allotment to Automobile workshops, medical tourism projects , warehouses as an service industry and also suggested use of extra land with existing units for these activities , Ranjan P thakur assured that it is included and existing units will be allowed to do so
Sahai suggested Free hold rights for Existing units having PMT for more than 20 years which can benefit unit holder to take funding from banks as valuation of the property will be elevated and funding problems of MSME’S could be solved .
Other points discussed in the meeting include policy for medical tourism, Creation of invest J&K as a single window clearance department in J&K , infrastructure upgradation of industrial estates in terms of Roads - power cuts - drainage systems- industrial waste dumping grounds , Rural connectivity with industrial estates for movement of labour in odd hours , skill development upgradation in ITI’S of J&K as per industry requirement , if skilled labour is not available Govt should not stop incentives of units , Collateral free MSME funding issues and industrial benefits to hotel industry in terms of power rates and GST refunds .
