Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 1: In yet another shocker about the alleged mis-governance during the Peoples Democratic Party-Bharatiya Janta Party rule in Jammu and Kashmir, government vehicles were allegedly used to ferry arms and ammunition for the terrorists.
A recent charegesheet by the National Investigation Agency or NIA has exposed the unholy alliance between separatists, politicians and terrorists in Kashmir.
The NIA chargesheet has accused a PDP leader of using his government vehicle to ferry arms and ammunition for the terrorists linked to the Hizbul Mujahideen.
Sources said one PDP leader, who is presently under detention allegedly misused his official position and government machinery in transporting arms and ammunition from one place to another.
As per the NIA charge sheet, the PDP leader who was also a government functionary that time, was involved in transporting arms and ammunition meant for terrorists in his official vehicle that used to be escorted by policemen guarding the said leader.
The charge sheet claims that the said leader ran the “business of gun-running” from the Kupwara area - a known infiltration route - to south Kashmir. It is pertinent to mention that south Kashmir was hotbed of militancy during the PDP regime.
"He used to visit Kupwara area with his escort party and bring weapons in his vehicle as none of the security agents used to check vehicle en route being an important political entity," said sources privy to the investigations.
Officials said the NIA has credible evidence in support of the chargesheet and that the plot got exposed with the arrest of Jammu and Kashmir Police Deputy Superintendent of Police Devender Singh who was caught with top militant Naveed Babu.
Sources said during the interrogation and subsequent arrests, the NIA got to know about the involvement of the PDP leaders in the terror nexus.
It is pertinent to mention that the arrest of DySP Devender Singh was seen as a major success for the security agencies in unearthing the “tightly kept secrets of the terror nexus” in Jammu and Kashmir.
