JAMMU, Apr 2: All Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF), affiliated to Akhil Bhartiya Rashtryia Shikshak Mahasangh, welcomed the announcement made by the Administrative Secretary BK Singh with reference to implementation of Teachers transfer policy in JK UT.
In a press release issued here Devraj Thakur, President JK UT AJKLTF, hailed Administrative Secretary Education SB K Singh for restoring honor and dignity of the teaching community in the state. He said,"We hail the efforts of B K Singh for focusing on academics without playing any politics on the issues pertaining to the education department. These decisions will help in improving the quality education"
He further said, "The steps taken by the Education department for improvement in the academic side and eradication of corruption are highly commendable".
He expressed gratitude to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for initiating speedy disposal of pending issues of teachers' community.
Highlighting the issues of the teaching community, he demanded a transparent/rational transfer policy should be framed and implemented transparently to make the system work efficiently.
He alleged that over 13 posts of CEOs, hundreds of posts of Principals, ZEOs, Lecturers and Masters/Teachers are lying vacant which affects administrative activity badly that must be fulfilled immediately for the smooth functioning of the department.
AJKLTF expressed its anguish over the vacant posts at various levels in the department. Teachers Federation also requested Administrative Secretary Education conduct of district level darbar for teaching community so that their issues be dealt on time at their district level so that they may not visit Directorate of School Education Jammu for even small works.
