| DDC Poonch makes mockery of COVID-19 norms | | Poses for a photograph without mask, forgets to maintain social distance | |  Early Times Report
Poonch, Apr 2: Amid spike in COVID-19 cases in J&K, the District Development Commissioner Poonch was seen posing for a group photograph with the visitors in his office without wearing a face mask and without maintaining social distance in violation of the pestilence norms.
A photograph has gone viral on social media wherein newly appointed DDC Poonch is seen with a group of students. Although students were wearing masks but there was no social distancing and moreover the DDC was without a mask.
Instead of taking preventive measures to prevent COVID-19 from spreading, some officials are taking the issue lightly, local residents said.
They said that after the picture of the DDC Poonch went viral, people are questioning that if District Magistrate is not following COVID 19 SoPs, how we can expect that a common person to follow guidelines.
Although Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been insisting on ‘Do Gaz Ki Doori Mask Hai Zaruri’ but the officials at ground level seem least interested.
When Early Times contacted the DDC Poonch for his version and sent him the picture and sought his comment he didn’t pick up the phone. |
