POONCH, Apr 2: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today paid a visit to Check Point Bhimber Gali (BG) and chaired a meeting with Senior Officers of the District administration involved in Covid management.
BG being the main entry point to the District, management of this place has a crucial role in Covid mitigation efforts. Sr. Superintendent of Police, Chief Medical Office, SDM Mendhar, BMO Mendhar and other officers were also present. The Deputy Commissioner took stock of the arrangements there and asked the SSP Poonch to strengthen security of the place. The Chief Medical Officer and BMO Mendhar were directed to deploy medical team for Covid-19 testing of all the persons having travel history, before entering the district. The Deputy Commissioner also directed to replicate similar mechanism at DKG, the second main entry point to the District. He further directed to increase the testing counters at BG to enhance testing capacity to cater to the huge flow of the traffic.
Officers/officials involved in the mitigation efforts at BG were directed to strictly maintain all Covid-19 related SOPs, especially due to the fact that District Poonch has recently seen resurgence in Covid-19 related cases. |
