Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav: Awareness programme on DILRMP held at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Apr 2: As a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ (India@75), a one day Farmers’ awareness cum interaction programme on the benefits of Digital India Land Record Modernization Programme was today organised by was organized by District Administration Udhampur here at Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib was the chief guest on the occasion.
At the outset, ACR, Viqar Giri presented welcome address and highlighted the importance of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Regional Director Land Records Survey, Nawab Din gave a detailed power point presentation on the progress and benefits of Digital India Land Record Modernization Programme. He informed that the land record is being written in three different languages to benefit the farmers. He further informed that 72% scanning of revenue records with 92% quality check has been completed in District Udhampur. He said that against total 396 Jamabandies, 386 have been completed.
While highlighting the significance of the event, the DC said that the main objective of this programme is to celebrate the country's glory and progress which it achieved in 75 years. She underlined the role of all stakeholders in moving the country on the path of sustainable development.
The DC added that such platforms help familiarize the farmers about various Government initiatives and awareness about the Digital India Land Record Modernization program is a step towards making the public aware about their land rights. She added that it should be the resolve and commitment of every one to contribute towards nation building. She appreciated the efforts of Revenue department for progress recoded in scanning and compilation of Jamabandies and stressed on 100% completion by April. She asked the Revenue department to gear up the progress for timely completion of all pending records.
“The digitization of revenue records will usher a new era of transparency and accountability in land record management and the public will be able to view record at a click of a button” she added.
Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan; Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Chowdhary and other officers, Tehsildars besides farmers in large numbers were present in the occasion.
