Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav: Kathua Administration’s Special event series ends amid Pomp and Show

KATHUA, Apr 3: Kathua Administration’s Special event series under ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ ended today with an impressive culmination ceremony held here at Government Degree College for Women.
Vice Chairman DDC Kathua, Raghunandan Singh was the Chief Guest on the final day event.
The culmination events included Poster Making Competition, Cultural programmes by troupe of Regional Outreach Bureau, J&K, Nukkad Natak besides Solo and Group Performances by the College students.
While speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman DDC said events like ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ provides a great opportunity for everyone to learn about the Heroes of our freedom struggle. Recalling the sacrifices of freedom fighters, he said, India stands among the big powers of the world today, both militarily and economically, because of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav while addressing the participating students said the most meaningful tribute we can pay to our freedom fighers of Indian Independence is to build an India they aspired for’.
He appealed to the young students to take inspiration from the valour, determination and sacrifice of our freedom fighters. He appreciated the young school and college students for showing great enthusiasm during the five day special events of district administration.
Later, the Chief Guest gave away the prizes and trophies to the winners of Marathon, Cycle Rally, Painting Completion and participants of Cultural Activities.
BDC Chairperson Kathua Raghubir Singh, Principal GDW Kathua Yash Pal Kundal, CEO Jagjit Singh, DYSSO Sunil Kumar, BDO Dr Rupali Jasrotia, FPO, Regional Outreach Bureau, Stage Manager, ROB J&K and a large number of people were also present.
