He said there are 24 active cases at present in the district and steps have been taken to trace contacts to prevent the infection from spreading. "Posters outside the houses of Covid + patients are pasted to create awareness among general public also," he told the meeting.
The meeting was informed that on an average over the last three days, against a target of 200, District Ramban is testing 257 persons for RT-PCR. Similarly, for Covid vaccination, the number of people vaccinated in the last two days has gone up from an average of 434 to around 1300 per day.
The meeting decided to supplement the Health Department's reach by deputing mobile teams which shall help in expeditious testing, vaccination and public awareness for keeping Covid infection under control. In view of South Portal of Jawahar Tunnel having been declared as Red Zone, the meeting decided to undertake random testing of travellers and drivers to detect any possible Covid+ case.
