4/11/2021 12:14:38 AM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 10: Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj (ABS), a social volunteer organization, has taken serious note of the poor drainage system in Bhour Camp area.
ABS said that the drainge which starts from New Era Public School and goes parallel to house of Ashok Kumar Sharma and Bal Krishan Sharma, touching the land of Regional Research Laboratory and ends in Nallah near Government Higher Secondary School Bhour Camp got clogged at various places owing to land encroachment and vested interests of few residents.
This particular drainage was earlier built and remained in operation under various projects funded through public exchequer as evident from proper drainage pipes and infrastructure built in this drainage system. Now, owing to the said encroachment and resulting blockage of drainage, there is a strong apprehension that clogged drain may lead to outburst of an epidemic or disease in the surrounding area in the on-going period of COVID-19 pandemic. Various deputations and grievances raised on various platforms and in front of authorities leads to nil results so far, said ABS.
A thorough check and removal of the said blockage and a through drainage particularly near regional research laboratory may save the residents of area from outbreak of any epidemic and to end the misery, ABS demanded.
