Crime Branch arrests accused in fake job scam in Reasi

JAMMU, Apr 10: A team of crime Branch Jammu arrested accused -Ashiq Mohammad R/o Damini Tehsil Chasana District Reasi on a specific input from District Reasi in case FIR No.29/2019 U/S 420,465,468,471,120-B RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement in inducing and luring the unemployed youth of District Reasi with the promise of arranging them government jobs in forest department for monitory consideration of Rs 3 lacs each.
The accused was not cooperating in the investigation of the case and was constantly on a run to evade his arrest. A written complaint was lodged by the unemployed youths of Mahore area of District Reasi in Crime Branch Jammu in which they alleged that they had applied for the class IV post in Forest Department and they came in contact with accused who allured them with the promise of arranging them jobs they had applied for and took them to one Abdul Rasheed a very influential person who demanded Rs. 3.0 lakhs from each complainant.
The accused persons cheated the complainants and duped them of their hard earned money which the complainants paid in cash and through bank transaction. Thereafter accused person handed over to complainant fake appointment order and asked them to join in Forest department but when they approached to the concerned, the orders were found to be fake.
On receipt of the complaint a preliminary verification was initiated in Crime Branch Jammu and during the course of investigation the allegations were prima-facie substantiated against the accused. Accordingly the instant case was registered under relevant sections of law for in-depth investigation. Ever since the registration of the case the accused did not cooperate in the investigation of the case and remained at large to evade his arrest along with other co-accused by changing his locations.
However, Crime Branch Jammu laid a trap for his arrest and based on a specific input the Crime Branch zeroed in at his location in Reasi and brought him to face the investigation. The accused is being produced before Court of law for seeking his police remand to take the investigation of the case to its logical conclusion.
