3 LeT OGWs arrested in Budgam; incriminating material recovered

SRINAGAR, Apr 17: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and recovered incriminating material in central Kashmir district of Budgam. A police spokesperson said that following specific information, a joint team of police and 53 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) apprehended three OGWs, identified as Adil Ahmad Dar, Tahir Ahmad Bhat and Ghulam Mohammad Gojre in Budgam.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested militant associates were providing shelter, logistics and other material support, including transportation of arms and ammunition, for LeT militants in Magam, Narbal and Beerwah areas of Budgam. He said all the three arrested militant associates have been in touch with the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK)-based militant commanders through various social media platforms.
He said the trio has also been in constant touch with LeT self styled commander Mohammad Yousuf Dar alias Kantro and Abrar Nadeem Bhat. "Incriminating material, including ammunition and posters of proscribed outfit LeT, were recovered from the possession of the arrested associates," he said.
He said a case FIR No 51/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Magam and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
