Early Times Report

Jammu, April 17: Ahead of summer and water borne diseases, the first lane of ward number one of Dharp Kotha is enough to expose the claims of the administration to provide better civic services in Jammu.
Due to lackadaisical approaches concerned departments the residents are craving for basic amenities.
The residents of first lane of ward no 1 Dharp Potha informed Early Times that the roads, streets and lanes drains in their area are in the worst condition, and no one is listening for immediate actions.
“Second wave of COVID-19 has taken entire country into its clutches and more than 2 lakhs news cases every day and a large number of the deaths across the nation make us worried, as we are even not getting clean environment and basis civic services around us”, the resident told Early Times and added that they have raised their suffering with their elected representatives.
“Even media is continuously highlighting our issues, but the administration has turned dumb ears towards our suffering. Works for the most of projects, whether it is road, drains, lane, street or any other, were executed and completed in a hurry before the last financial year end”, they said, adding that departments in hurry spoils public money.
“Though the government has fixed responsibility for the department that is engaged in civil works. But still corruption makes in ways. CBI should randomly check the quality of recently completed works to expose how much public money has been drained”, they said, adding that under Lt. Guv. Manoj Sinha’s command, they want action against the erring officers, who allowed use of sub-standard material under their jurisdiction.
Taking pain of public suffering, the Editor-in-Chief Early Times Munish Gupta has urged Lt. Guv. Manoj Sinha for strict action against the erring officers for wastage of public money. “If the residents of Gandhi Nagar constituency, a crown of winter capital are not getting proper civic services, what about those who are living in remote areas”, he said, adding that a special team of officers to be tasked for making ground reports for timely redressal of the problems being faced by the people.
