JAMMU, Apr 17: Prominent Kissan leaders today visited the residence of former mayor & President AIJMS J&K, Ch Manmohan Singh, to pay their respect and mourn the tragic and untimely demise of his wife Vijay Choudhary, Corporator.
Kissan leaders Rakesh Tikait (Spokesman BKU & senior Vice president AIJMS) Ch Yudhvir Singh (Gen Secy BKU & AIJMS), Harpal Singh Harpura (President AIJMS Punjab), Dharamveer Singh and senior leader from Punjab Avtar Singh Klair expressed their sympathies with Manmohan Choudhary.
This morning when Rakesh Tikait and other senior Kissan leaders reached Jammu via train, a large number of civil society groups and Kissan activists and supporters of Ch Manmohan Singh welcomed and received them at Jammu railway station. People present requested Rakesh Tikait to address the gathering and share his views on the current status of their protest but Tikait politely refused to comment on anything.
He said that he is present in Jammu to extend his condolences and support to his brother Ch Manmohan Singh and his family during their troubled time. He is here to share their grief. He will address the gathering some other time as he intends to come to Jammu again, for as long as his brother needs him. Rakesh Tikait expressed his disdain over Vijay Choudhary’s demise. Ch Yudhvir Singh remembered the humanitarian and visionary personality of Vijay Choudhary. Rakesh Tikait, Ch Yudhvir Singh & other Kissan leaders expressed solidarity with the family of Ch Manmohan Singh.
Prominent social activists from Jammu including Narinder Singh Khalsa, Sukhdev Singh, Mohan Singh Bhatti and others also expressed full solidarity with the bereaved family of Ch Manmohan Singh.
