DDC Poonch visits SDH Mendhar, reviews COVID care facilities

POONCH, Apr 27: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Inder Jeet today paid a surprise visit to SDH Mendhar and took stock of the quality of health services and medical facilities being provided to the patients and COVID arrangements.
The DDC was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police, Vinod Kumar; Sub Divisional Magistrate Mendhar, Sahil Jandyal, and officers of the Health Department.
He inspected various sections of the hospital including emergency, operation theatre, labour ward and took stock of the medical facilities being provided to the patients. He inquired about the availability of medicines and other facilities in the hospital. The District Development Commissioner also took stock of the COVID care facilities/arrangements being put in place at SDH Mendhar.
The District Development Commissioner directed the Block Medical Officer Mendhar for establishing a 100 bedded COVID care centre at SDH Mendhar. The District Development Commissioner also passed on the instruction of aggressive testing; as this would play a significant role in breaking the chain by isolating the positive patients.
He also underlines the need for creating mass awareness in connection with the vaccination drive and directed the concerned health authorities for the hundred per cent vaccination of the targeted groups. While taking stock of the COVID testing arrangements at Bhimber Gali, the DDC applauded the efforts of the team and said that make sure no one enters the district without getting tested.
Later, in the evening the DDC also convened a meeting to review the implementation of the COVID-19 advisories and SoPs in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the Tehsildars, Block Development Officers, BMOs to create mass awareness for COVID-19 vaccination and testing in their jurisdiction.
He said the progress of COVID-19 vaccination; testing and SEHAT Scheme registration will be monitored daily.
ACD was directed to ensure a hundred per cent vaccination of the PRIs in the district.
