| Residents of Panchayat Machola deprived of drinking water supply | | | Ajay Sharma

Rajouri, Apr 27: The residents of Mistry Mohalla of Panchayat Machola of tehsil Sunderbani district Rajouri have been deprived of drinking water supply. Despite construction of water tank with 10,000 gallon capacity by PHE Department with expenditure of Rs 20 lakh has failed to achieve target thereby defeating “Har Ghar Jal” slogan.
The residents alleged that they have not been getting water supply despite lodging number of complaints with PHE Division Sunderbani. “Few years ago, the concerned JE PHE had got constructed a water tank with 10000 gallon water capacity and Rs 20 lakhs were spent on it but till date not even single gallon of water was received from this tank and it has been running dry,” they alleged further adding that JE and concerned Contractor took benefit from construction and lakhs of rupees were withdrawn pipeline welding.
They appealed to LG for conducting inquiry against JE and demanded FIR. Chief Engineer PHE said that he would initiate inquiry and strict action will be taken.
