UDA asks Govt to initiate enquiry behind COVID-19 deaths in Jammu Hospital

JAMMU, May 12: Expressing shock over the more casualty in Jammu despite less number of COVID positive cases as compared to Kashmir Valley, Convenor, United Democratic Alliance, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajiv Mahajan asked government to initiate enquiry behind this weather it is due to non- availability of proper infrastructure and shortage of expert doctors and health employees team to cater this situation in Jammu Hospital.
Welcoming Lt Governor Manoj Sinha’s recent visit to Jammu hospitals, Rajiv Mahajan urged LG to pay a surprise visit without the knowledge of any health employees in order to check the ground reality in the Government Medical College, Chief Disease Hospital, Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar etc.
He said whenever Lt Governor Manoj Sinha paid visits to hospitals the administration was always in forefront to show red carpet and hide its mismanagement.
He said as per social media report, many COVID-19 patients sitting with oxygen cylinders in the hospital premises with their family members as they are unable to get ICU beds in hospitals which clearly show lack of medical assistance in the Jammu hospitals resulting in more number of the deaths of patients.
He suggested the government to immediately invite a team of expert doctors and technical team from prestigious hospitals from the Country to ascertain the causes of higher mortality rates in the Jammu hospitals and suggest urgent improvements to save the precious lives due to COVID-19 second wave.
