DC Kathua reviews Covid containment measures in Billawar

BILLAWAR, May 16: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav today reviewed Covid Containment and management measures in Billawar sub –division, here at a meeting.
BDC Chairpersons, DDC members, ADC Billawar, Engineers of PDD, Jal Shakti, PWD, Tehsildar, BMO, TSO and the officers of Billawar MC were also present.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took first hand appraisal from PRI representatives regarding Covid containment efforts of the administration. He also called upon the elected members to suggest measures for effective containment of Covid -19 spread.
The DC reviewed testing, Vaccination, enforcement of Covid-19 SOP's besides containment efforts in general, drinking water and power supply scenario in the sub-district. He passed directions to the engineers to ensure smooth delivery of essential services including supply of drinking water and electricity in the sub division.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Sub District Hospital Billawar and inspected the arrangements put in place for treatment of Covid patients.
He directed the BMO to pace up the vaccination drive to inoculate all persons in the 45+ age group. He called upon the health authorities to keep track of the Covid patients traced during the door to door mopping drive and provide all medical assistance to them.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the newly designated 46 bedded Covid Care Centre, GDC Billawar.
While discussing the scope for enhancing the numbers of Oxygen Supported Beds, the DC assured that Oxygen Cylinders, Oxygen Concentators and other Health care needs will be augmented in Covid Care Centres at the earliest.
