KISHTWAR, May 16: The COVID-19 survivors are offering a ray of hope amid the gloom of deadly 2nd wave in this mountainous district.
The surge of cases witnessed during the second wave here or elsewhere in the country is creating anxiety among the population. But the recovered patients, like Dr. Arif Rashid (Physician) at District Hospital Kishtwar, are greatly helping in restoring people’s faith in the healthcare system.
Dr. Arif had contracted the covid infection two weeks back and resumed his duty today after full recovery.
Sharing his experience, Dr. Arif Rashid said, “After testing positive, I kept a close tab on my oxygen saturation and other symptoms and strictly followed the Covid treatment protocol in home isolation.”
Besides taking recommended medication, taking a healthy diet and following SOPs also helped me recover fast, he added.
He advised patients to take plenty of water, eat simple and healthy-diet as these play a vital role in recovery.
“If you develop COVID-19 symptoms or test positive don’t panic. Isolate yourself and keep in touch with your healthcare provider during the course of your illness” he suggested. He strictly advised against taking any over-the-counter medication. “Only in case of severe symptoms like breathlessness, lowering of oxygen saturation level one needs to visit hospital,” he added.
