EArly Times Report

DODA, May 17: Dedicated and countless hours of round the clock working by a multi-specialised District Covid team over last one year has laid a strong foundation for the effective Covid management in this hilly district.
String of measures and initiatives have been taken by the District Administration to tackle the situation in effective and efficient way. The composition and constitution of District Covid team/cell is result of a meticulous selection.
Since last year, the team headed by Epidemiologist Umar Anayat khan and comprising Block Medical Officer, Dr Mashhood Zargar, Faizan Ali Tramboo MMPHW (Distt. Media Coordinator) of Ghat Block and Umar Mughal (DEO) from office of Chief Medical Officer are working without a single day break in managing the Covid-19 and its related affairs on daily basis.
The team also forms one of the core groups of the District Covid Task Force(DCTF) working in close coordination with it to chalk out the framework and measures which are implemented at the grassroots level to safeguard every individual amid this Covid-19 pandemic scare.
The data management which includes daily COVID-19 bulletin, daily reporting on vaccination, testing, status of positive cases, home isolation, surveillance, identification of potential hotspots, framing of SOPs, imparting training to the field functionaries, dissemination of accurate information, addressing grievances of COVID-19 patients/general public, guiding people regarding the do's and don’ts and preventive measures to be taken to contain the spread of COVID-19 etc form the day to day task of the team.
Adding to this when there was shortage of qualified staff to perform testing, the members of the team volunteered and performed around 2000 RAT tests till now both in town area and far off villages of the district.
In recognition of his work, the head of the team, Epidemiologist Umar Anayat khan was conferred Covid warrior award by LG last year at Srinagar. The other members were also felicitated by the Divisional and District Administration for their selfless service amid Coronavirus threat.
