GDC Darhal Organized a Webinar on Career Opportunities after Graduation

Jammu, May 17: Career counselling and placement cell of Govt. Degree College Darhal organized a webinar on the theme “Career opportunities after Graduation” in which Dr Arun Kumar Poonia Assistant Director Students Welfare Department, Manipal University Jaipur was the resource person.
Poonia deliberated on circumstances, choices, dreams, awareness, opportunities, willingness and actions a student has to take for fulfillment of his goal. He threw light on various competitive examinations such as UPSC Civil Services, SBI PO, LIC AAO, IBPS PO, RBI Grade B, IBPS SO, Indian railways, Combined Defence Services and so many other examinations after graduation.
Earlier Principal of the College Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia in his inaugural address appreciated the role of Career Counselling and Placement Cell of the college in organizing such programmes and that too during these tough times of pandemic. He said that the theme of the Webinar “Career Opportunities after Graduation” was specially chosen keeping in view the uncertainty in the minds of the students because of the prevailing conditions due to COVID-19.
He said that such online webinars are the only way out to keep the students in touch and prepare them for their better future. He said that it was a rare occasion for a college like GDC Darhal to have the presence of a resource person from a highly and world class institution like Manipal University Jaipur.
Speaking on this occasion Dr. Ather Aziz Raina Convener Career Counselling Cell of the college gave a detail of the programmes organized by Career Counselling and Placement Cell of the College. He told that the Webinar was attended by a large number of faculty members and students from various colleges of J&K UT. He also thanked the resource person for giving a golden opportunity to the students to interact and clear their doubts regarding career options.
