GDC organizes online documentary session on Bhagat Singh

JAMMU, May 17: To commemorate 75 years of India’s independence “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, Government Degree College (GDC), Ramgarh organized an online documentary screening session namely ‘Inqilab’ on the life of great freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. The webinar was organized under the guidance of Sushma Chauhan, Secretary to Government Higher Education Department UT of J&K and under the patronage of Principal of the college Dr Meeru Abrol. Research scholars of University of Jammu and Central University of Jammu as well as students of different colleges attended this documentary session. The aim of this activity was to aware the participants about the great history of struggle towards independent India and the sheer determination of a great freedom fighter like Bhagat Singh.
At the outset, Minali Deep, Department of EVS delivered the introduction of the documentary. Principal of the college Dr Meeru Abrol in her address highlighted that these freedom fighters should be celebrated as they had played an important role in Indian Independence movement. She also added that reading and studying about the freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh will inspire the young generation to serve its country in righteous way. The event was concluded by Prof Seema Sharma, Convener, Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsava programmes. The event was coordinated by Prof Seema Sharma and Minali Deep under the guidance of Principal, Dr Meeru Abrol.
