Cruel joke in the name of cheap fame
5/18/2021 12:17:21 AM

Subhash Rekhi

Strange it may sound but it is a fact that the National Govt. has cut a cruel joke with most of the residents of UT J & K. Ayushman Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna was launched by our Hon’ble Prime Minister on 26th Jan.2021 for whole of the population of UT J & K, but adopted the survey report of 2011, which survey was conducted for some other purpose. The irony is that you are announcing this facility for whole of the legitimate residents of UT J & K in 2021 but making basis of survey report of 2011. We do not know which agency conducted survey and for what purpose.
Had the Govt. been sincere, they should have issued circular and nominated some officers, directing them names of those residents, whose names do not appear in the survey report should be included who bring original Domicile/ Aadhar/ Ration Card certificates but it was not done and instead an unending chain was suggested for incorporation of names for issue of Golden Cards.
It was suggested by the Govt. that those residents should approach concerned Tehsildars.
The chain of incidents is firstly to procure Proforma, complete it and submit to Tehsildar along with Domicile/ Aadhar/ Ration Card certificates, who passes it to the ration dealer then to Tehsil Supply Officer, then to Patwari followed by Asha Worker and finally to the concerned Chief Medical Officer for registration.
This whole process takes about 3-4 months, if all the officers are available in their offices. Names of most of the families/ individuals including Senior Citizens and Super Senior Citizen’s are missing and they are deprived of the so called benefits announced by the Govt. Moreover majority of the senior citizens thumb impressions do not tally with Biometrics because the curves stand diminished with the advance of age, resulting refusal for registration.
If this is not a mockery then what you call it that most of the residents have been intentionally denied these benefits, when the period of this operation will expire on 25th Jan. 2022. Under these circumstances the left out residents appeal to the Hon’ble Lt. Governer Shri Manoj Sinha to intervene personally and direct Nodal Officers to register as per our request already made and oblige otherwise a very wrong message is being circulated regarding Pradhan Mantari Jan Arogya Yojna.
Hope Hon’ble Lt. Governer Shri Manoj Sinha will take immediate action for the benefit of society especially in this Covid Pandemic atmosphere and oblige.
