Early Times Report

BANI, May 25: Dr Rameshwar Singh Zonal Medical Officer Bani has set the benchmark by providing free meals to patients admitted in Sub District Hospital (SDH) and their attendants since the day one of lockdown. Considering the difficulty being faced by those who have to visit the SDH for one reason or the other amid strict lockdown forcing closure of shops providing food items, the aforesaid ZMO decided to provide succor to the ailing public and started free meal service in the hospital. The locals have appreciated the philanthropic initiative in the direction of serving the mankind. Since the outbreak of corona pandemic in Bani, Dr Rameshwar is rendering selfless service by volunteering to play the lead role in spreading awareness on the disease among the masses in this far-off hamlet and also by holding medical camps in almost every Panchayat and providing face masks, sanitisers and other safety equipment to enable people in combating COVID-19 effectively. This was not enough as he also arranged free medicines for the needy people to make their bodies robust against the viruses and harmful bacteria. Surely, Dr Rameshwar has set an example for others to serve humanity with a difference as people in the vicinity have great regard for him for his inspiring endeavour.
Despite challenges in these desperate times, the ZMO has proved his mettle and shown others that where there is will there is way.
“In this hour of need, I have committed myself to do everything I can wherein I can provide some succour to people in need,” said the doctor on asking about this initiative in this remote belt of Kathua District.
