JAMMU, June 5: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) took stock of special sanitation drive launched by the JMC in different areas of the city.
Commissioner JMC, Avny Lavasa in order to review the progress of the drive toured the areas viz Narwal Bye- Pass road, Rajiv Nagar, Nai Basti, Satwari, Gangyal, Nanak Nagar, Marble Market, Trikuta Nagar and Greater Kailash etc. and issued on spot directions to the Dr. Sanjogita Soodan, Health Officer, JMC for putting every possible effort for providing proper sanitation to the citizens of the Jammu City, as the aim for launching this special sanitation drive is to ensure higher cleanliness as the lockdown is gradually lifted.
Commissioner JMC also directed Transport Officers for thorough cleaning/desilting of the Nallahs well before the onset of monsoon season to avoid over flooding of nallahs during rainy season.
The Commissioner JMC appealed to the people to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation and use identified places for disposal of garbage. She also stressed to avoid use of polythene to the extent possible which is the major cause of blockage of drains and nallahs. She stressed for putting every possible efforts in achieving goal of making city Jammu Clean and Green and aim of Swachh Bharat Mission and also appealed to the general public at large to comply the guidelines/SOPs being issued by the Govt. with regard to Covid-19 Pandemic in letter and spirit. |
