MBSA delegation meets Cong leadership, conveys its grievances

JAMMU, June 5: A delegation of Matador and Bus Service Association (MBSA) along with a group of general public visited Congress headquarter here today at Shaheedi Chowk to convey its grievances to the party leadership.
Led by president Beopar Mandal and District General Secretary Congress Gurmeet Singh, the members of the delegation during their meeting with the Congress leadership put forth their grievances which included increase in fare of matadors/buses, restriction on number of passengers in matadors/buses, increase of toll tax and insurance, increase in diesel prices besides it also sought free distribution of ration to general public in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
Addressing the meeting, Gurmeet Singh stressed upon the central and UT governments to pay attention towards the grievances of the Association, adding that the increase in fare is essential as the passengers have been decreased in matadors.
He further said that toll tax and insurance be reduced, adding that the diesel prices have gone to that extent that the owners are not able to carry on their business with such increase.
Gurmeet Singh said the BJP govt has ruined the country as the general public has been burdened with taxes while they are also bearing the brunt of hike in prices of essential commodities.
Singh further told that if the Congress comes to power, it will reduce the rates of petrol, diesel and other essential commodities.
Prominent among those who accompanied Gurmeet Singh included Ward No 3 President Rajkumar Sodhi, Ward No 15 President Hardavinder Singh, Suman Gupta, Manohar Joshi, Sudesh Kumari, Amarpreet Singh, Sahil Verma, Sanjeev Kumar, Vijay Sharma, Poli and others.
