JTC-SKF hold meeting, reiterate demand to resettle KPs in Valley

JAMMU, June 15: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC)-Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K was held at township Nagrota under the leadership of its president Shadi Lal Pandita.
Addressing the members Pandita said that the annual Jayeshta Ashtami Kheer Bhawani Yatra, Tulamulla Ganderbal in Kashmir which was scheduled to be departed from Jammu to Kheer Bhawani on June 17 has been postponed this year due to Coronavirus.
Pandita said that about 600 Kashmiri Pandits have lost their lives due to the corona virus till date while the killer virus is not over yet. Therefore, it is not right to endanger people’s lives.I f anyone wishing to go on their own or in a group should inform the concerned Divisional commissioner Kashmir/Jammu and the concerned Deputy Commissioners.
All the Kashmiri Pandits are appealed to make Kheer in their respective homes and offer prayers to the Mata Kheer Bhawani.
Pandita said after the deportation of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir valley the Kheer Bhawani yatra was resumed by the Soan Kashmir Front J&K in the year 1994 in which thousands of pilgrims from Jammu, Delhi and other states of India reached Kheer Bhawani Tulamulla.
He informed that if Coronavirus is over then Har Ashtami Kheer Bhawani yatra will be performed. Then on July 16, the yatra will leave from Jammu for Kheer Bhawani Tulmulla for which the government will be asked to provide free SRTC buses and security as per past practice.
He urged the government to resettle the Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir valley for which townships should be built near Pattan Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag while he also demanded reservation of six assembly seats and three parliamentary seats viz a viz minority status for Kashmiri Pandits.
