| Rape accused arrested after 4 years from Kangra | | |  Early Times Report
Reasi, June 16: Team of Police Station Arnas-Reasi arrested a rape accused who had gone underground after commission of heinous crime of rape in June 2017.
Accused Manish Thakur S/O Tirath Ram R/O Chassana Mahore district Reasi who was absconding to avoid investigation & his arrest in case FIR no 53/2017 U/S 452,376, 506 RPC Police Station Chassana, after the Commission of heinous crime against a 17 years old girl (name withheld) on 03/06/2017.
After the commission of heinous act Manish Thakur evaded investigation by going underground & couldn’t be apprehended since the registration of FIR in 06/10/2017 as he was continuously changing his hideouts in Mahore, Basholi and Himachal Pradesh. The investigation of the case was transferred by the then SSP Reasi to SDPO Arnas. By meticulously planning & coordinated efforts, Arnas Police chased the accused till his arrest. Medical opinion of the minor girl was conducted & report has already been sought.
With this arrest after a long chase, the final report of case will be produced in the court of law on merits. SSP Reasi has appreciated efforts of the police team for nabbing the accused from across the Union Territory of J&K & carrying forward the resolve to leave no stone unturned to put hard core & long absconding criminals to justice by arresting & producing them before respective Hon’ble courts for judicial determination of cases under law of the land. |
