Raids, searches, nakas conducted, narcotics & liquor seized; six arrested

Reasi, June 17: In another major strike on drug peddling, surprise nakas were laid, raids & searches were conducted in different areas of district Reasi.
During surprise naka checking at Jamslan road connecting Mahore area with Ramban, team of Police Station Mahore intercepted notorious drug peddler Shafiq Ahmed S/O Abdul Jabbar R/O Dhamni Chassana from Jamslan Mahore and recovered 1.04 kgs of charas like substance from his possession. In this regard case FIR no 35/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act registered in Police Station Mahore and investigations initiated & accused is arrested. In Katra, team of Police Station Katra raided & searches house of most notorious name in the locality, drug peddler Karamat Ali S/O Saif Ali R/O Paroh Katra on his disclosure & recovered 100 gms of Charas from the house. Accused Karamat Ali had already been arrested on 13th of June in Case FIR no 102/2021 US 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Katra in case of drug peddling.
Teams of Reasi Police, during series of raids conducted against illicit liquor in district Reasi, lodged four FIR’s & arrested five bootleggers red handed. All are booked under Excise Act while ten liters illicit liquor and 35 Litres of lahan is seized & destroyed on the spot.
Team of Police Station Ransoo conducted series of raids in Ransoo area and arrested bootlegger Sanjay Kumar S/O Ram Lal R/O ward no 9 Katla tehsil Pouni and recovered 3 litres of illicit liquor (hooch) from his possession for which FIR NO. 8/2021 U/S 48 (a) registered under Excise Act against the criminal in Police Station Ransoo.
In another instance team of police station Ransoo on a specific information raided on the house of one Sham lal S/O Jagdish Raj R/O Kotla and during raid 02 liters of illicit liquor recovered from his house . In this regards a case FIR no 09/2021 under section 48 (a) Excise act got registered in police station Ransoo and accused got arrested.
In Bhambla jurisdiction, one bootlegger namely Shoshi Kumar S/O Panshu Ram R/O Dadowa Pouni was arrested alongwith 3 litres of hooch by the team of police post Bhambla during the raids for which FIR NO. 34/2021 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act is registered in Police Station Pouni.
Police post Dansal in separate raids on the house of one Prem Singh, registered FIR No 60/2021 under sections 48 (a)(e), 50 Excise Act and arrested two bootleggers 1) Prem Singh S/O Durga Dass & his mother 2) Nanki Devi Wd/O Durga Dass R/O Dhansal and recovered 02 litres of illicit liquor from their posessesion and destroyed 35 litres of Lahan on the spot.
“Ek Yudh Nashe Ke Virudh” is a drive against drug abuse launched by Reasi Police and continued in every nook and corner of the jurisdiction. Drugs are being seized, lahan and illegal distilleries are being destroyed and Illicit liquor being seized.
Under the drive 74 Case FIR have been registered against 93 offenders since Sh Shailender Singh took over the charge of SSP Reasi in last week of march this year.
Peoples of Reasi particularly women folk are appreciating the efforts of team Reasi in taking action against illicit liquor vendors on such a large scale which leads to curb the menace of illicit liquor in the area.
