| JK reports 656 new positive cases, 295189 recovered so far | | Bulletin on Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 17: The Government on Thursday informed that 656 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 190 from Jammu division and 466 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 310017. Also 09 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 05 from Jammu Division and 04 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1426 more COVID-19 patients have been recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 506 from Jammu Division and 920 from Kashmir Division.
Besides this, 77.40 percent of the population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir.
Also one new confirmed case of Mucormycosis has been reported today, thus taking the total number of confirmed cases to 22 in the UT of J&K.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 310017 positive cases, 10602 are Active Positive, 295189 have recovered and 4226 have died; 2058 in Jammu division and 2168 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 9354739 test results available, 9044722 samples have been tested as negative till 17th June, 2021.
Till date 2280608 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 47792 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 10602 in isolation and 173988 in home surveillance. Besides, 2044000 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 68762 positive cases (including 112 cases reported today) with 1641 Active Positive, 66306 recovered (including 255 cases recovered today), 815 deaths; Baramulla has 22887 positive cases (including 42 cases reported today) with 818 Active Positive, 21793 recovered (including 135 cases recovered today), 276 deaths; Budgam reported 22122 positive cases (including 94 cases reported today) with 843 active positive cases, 21079 recovered (including 103 cases recovered today), 200 deaths; Pulwama has 14590 positive cases (including 54 cases reported today) with 997 Active Positive, 13408 recovered (including 151 cases recovered today) and 185 deaths; Kupwara has 13460 positive cases (including 45 cases reported today), 668 Active Positive, 12635 recoveries (including 78 cases recovered today), 157 deaths; Anantnag district has 15693 positive cases (including 53 cases reported today) with 626 Active Positive, 14872 recovered (including 38 cases recovered today), 195 deaths; Bandipora has 9075 positive cases (including 17 cases reported today), with 338 Active Positive and 8640 recoveries (including 17 cases recovered today), 98 deaths; Ganderbal has 9361 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today) with 275 Active Positive, 9011 recoveries (including 77 cases recovered today) and 75 deaths; Kulgam has 10791 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 420 Active Positive, 10262 recoveries (including 34 cases recovered today) and 109 deaths while as Shopian has 5522 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today), 108 active positive cases, 5356 recoveries (including 32 cases recovered today) and 58 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 52134 positive cases (including 33 cases reported today) with 1196 active positive cases, 49820 recoveries (including 146 cases recovered today), 1118 deaths; Udhampur has 11042 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today), 201 active positive cases, 10710 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today) and 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10501 positive cases (including 26 cases reported today) with 325 active positive, 9964 recoveries (including 49 cases recovered today) and 212 deaths; Doda has 6508 positive cases (including 41 cases reported today) with 804 Active positive, 5602 recovered (including 46 cases recovered today) and 102 deaths; Kathua has 9121 positive cases (including 20 cases reported today), 104 active positive cases, 8868 recovered (including 17 cases recovered today) and 149 deaths; Kishtwar has 4289 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 129 Active Positive, 4120 recoveries (including 17 cases recovered today) and 40 deaths; Samba has 7020 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 175 active positive cases, 6727 recoveries (including 26 cases recovered today) and 118 deaths; Poonch has 5910 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 448 active positive, 5376 recoveries (including 167 cases recovered today) and 86 deaths; Ramban has 5678 positive cases (including 26 cases reported today) with 348 active positive cases, 5270 recoveries (including 16 cases recovered today) and 60 deaths while Reasi has 5551 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 139 active positive cases, 5370 recoveries (including 13 cases recovered today) and 42 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 310017 positive cases in J&K, 21909 have been reported as travelers while 288108 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 2695 COVID dedicated beds, 2279 Isolation beds with 2091 vacant beds and 416 ICU beds where 333 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 3353 COVID dedicated beds, 3074 Isolation beds where 2497 beds are vacant and 279 ICU beds where 221 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 6048 COVID dedicated beds, 5353 Isolation beds with 4588 beds vacant and 695 ICU beds with 554 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
The government has also started free tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install the e-sanjeevani OPD app from Google play store.
Besides, 24x7 Rapid Antigen Testing facilities for COVID-19 have been started outside the emergency of GMC Hospital Jammu. The facility will be very useful for segregation of patients in the emergency wing of GMC Jammu. Meanwhile, a 24x7 COVID Control Room has been set up for redressal of the grievances related to COVID-19 positive patients admitted in the Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College, Jammu and Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Patients or attendants can call at 0191– 258 5444 (Control Room), Exchange: 0191-258 2626 / 258 5542 / 258 4290 /258 4291 / 258 4292 / 258 4293/ 258 4294 for assistance.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining a physical distance of at least 2 meter from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory.
The bulletin again explained that early detection of COVID-19 can prevent the spread of disease so we need to be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us. “Not disclosing symptoms could put life of individuals and their families at risk. In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early. Do not fear, call COVID-19 helpline numbers and seek medical advice”. Advisory has further exhorted upon the people not to step out of home, unless absolutely necessary. “If you have to move out for unavoidable reasons, ensure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing, personal hygiene and frequent hand washing with soap and water.”
In case of any emergency people can avail free ambulance services 24x7 at their doorsteps by calling on toll-free number 108 while pregnant women and sick infants can avail free ambulance services by dialing toll-free number 102.
