Jammu, June 18: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Friday said that BJP’s only strong point is its development plank and the party relied on this trait to become the first choice of the people across the country and even abroad.
The BJP stalwart was speaking after launching blacktopping work at the estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh in Ward No. 50 of Channi Himmat locality. Corporator Neena Gupta, BJP District PresidentVinay Gupta, Narender Gupta Koki, Raj Kumar Corporator, Balwan Singh, Poonam Gupta, Ashok Gupta, Sachiv and Devender Sharma were also present.
Kavinder, while addressing the limited number of people gathered on the occasion due to corona restrictions, maintained that under the realms of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime no segment in the UT of J&K will face development dearth or discrimination as ensuring peace and progress in the region is the prime motive of the government. He said that Jammu and Kashmir remained aloof of the development which the nation witnessed in the past due to indifference of the dynastic political parties that ruled the erstwhile State.
The senior BJP functionary categorically said that the injustice met by the people of Jammu will soon be rectified through the process of free and fair delimitation exercise paving way for genuine representation of the people’s aspirations.
Later, the former Deputy Chief Minister also visited Balmiki Colony in Ward No 20 and inaugurated construction work of lanes worth Rs. 10 lakh. He said that the delay in development works due to COVID pandemic will soon be overshadowed by attaining pace in completing these works before time to facilitate people.
