ABVP launches mega plantation drive across Jammu Kashmir

Jammu, June 22: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad today launched a mega plantation drive at different locations of Jammu to keep the city clean and Pollution free as an initiative to procure environmental resources.
The plantation drive started from Peer Kho near Panjthirthi by the Mayor Jammu, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta and ABVP North Zone Joint Organizing Secretary Sh Vijay Pratap in presence of State Secretary ABVP Jammu Kashmir Mukesh Manhas, State Joint Secretary Ramnik Sharma, Student for Development Convenor RadhaySham and State working Committee member Chahat Anand.
The Plantation will be conducted under "Clean & Green Jammu". The basic idea of plantation drive is to restore and noticeably increase green cover in the city over next few years besides involving all students & citizens of Jammu in this Clean, Green and Pollution free Jammu initiative of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta said that ABVP is different from other student organisations, as it gives importance to national unity, society as well also playing the role of preparing future leaders for the country. This initiative of ABVP to Plant ten thousand saplings in different locations will bring a great impact and will help in making Clean, Green and Pollution free Jammu.
ABVP North Zone Joint Organizing Secretary Vijay Pratap said, ABVP with its nationalist ideology is playing an important role in motivating the youth towards national service since long and by following the thoughts and ideals of Swami Vivekananda, the youth organization members have been working on the path of National Building.
He further said the role of ABVP in this pandemic is very commendable, this initiative of ABVP to Plant ten thousand saplings across Jammu Kashmir will help to procure environmental resources.
ABVP Jammu Kashmir State Secretary Mukesh Manhas said that the plantation drive will be conducted from 22 June to 30 June in every district of Jammu Kashmir.
The ABVP will reach at different schools, Colleges, Universities and different locations to plant trees. More than 400 karyakartas of ABVP will participate in this mega drive across Jammu Kashmir.
