Nowshera becomes 2nd Health block of Rajouri district to achieve 100% vaccination of 45 yr, above age group
6/22/2021 10:11:03 PM

EArly Times report

RAJOURI, June 22: With the spirited efforts and hard work of the health teams and the District Administration Rajouri, all 45 yr and above age group persons have been vaccinated in the Health block Nowshera of Rajouri district.
Nowshera has become the second health block of this border district to achieve this feat.
Like other districts of the Union Territory, elaborate arrangements were put in place for the successful launch of the vaccination drive in Rajouri on April 1, 2021.
But due to protracted lockdown after the second wave, hilly terrain and vaccine hesitancy among the public and for some other reasons, achieving the hundred per cent target of inoculation was not an easy task.
All the required arrangements were put in place for the smooth and hassle-free vaccination of the targeted population besides, special Panchayat level teams were also constituted for the door to door inoculation of the age appropriate persons.
Civil and police authorities were asked to facilitate the public during the lockdown so that they don't face any inconveniences
Despite all efforts by the district administration, the people were not showing much interest in vaccination because of the rumours being spread on social media about the vaccination.
The other reasons for the low vaccination rates were the geographical location of the district, scattered habitation, vaccine hesitancy etc.
However, the unrelenting efforts of the District Administration Rajouri worked well and this feat was achieved. Pertinently, all the health and frontline workers of the block also stand fully vaccinated.
It is because of the tireless endeavours of the Civil, Health and Police Department that the Health block Nowshera has become the second block in the district which has achieved the feat of 100 per cent vaccination of 45 year and above age group.
