Digital Toycathon 2021 commenced at YCET

Jammu, June 22: “Education is all about igniting young minds & enabling them to attain their fullest potential”, keeping this as a motive, Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology ( YCET ) participated in Toycathon 2021.
YCET has been selected by MIC/AICTE as the only Nodal Centre for hosting Digital Toycathon 2021 Grand Finale in UT of J & K from 22nd June to 24th June, 2021. Toycathon 2021 is an inter-ministerial initiative organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell with support from AICTE, Ministry of Women & Child Development, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Textiles and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
Under PM Modi’s ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’, Toycathon-2021 is conceived to challenge India’s innovative minds to conceptualize novel Toy and Games based on Bharatiya civilization, history, culture, mythology and ethos.
The formal welcome address at the inaugural session was given by Er. Dinesh Gupta, SPOC, YCET. The session started with the speech of illustrious Director, YCET Prof. (Dr.) A.K Srivastava, who in his address told that this Toycathon will connect young minds to national institutions and will also instill the spirit of inquiry, critical thinking and life skill learning.
Toycathon 2021 is a unique opportunity for Students, Teachers, Start-ups and Toy experts/professionals in India to submit their innovative toys/games concepts and win a large number of prizes worth Rs. 50 lakhs.
The session was further followed by the speech of guest of honor, Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal Govt Polytechnic Kathua, who congratulated YCET for being a premier institute in Jammu for hosting the event & added that Physical & Digital Toycathon will show right path to our young engineers because youth are the future of our Nation who build new ideas & translate their thoughts & ideas into actions.
Sameru Sharma, Principal, GCET Jammu, and Dean, Faculty of Engineering, University of Jammu was the chief-guest of the event who captivated the audience with her vital words. She motivated budding engineers by quoting that performance leads to recognition, recognition leads to respect which leads to power. Therefore, there is only one way to make India, a model of innovation, manufacturing & production, is through innovating, creating, generating ideas & performing.
The proceedings of the day ended with emphasis on overall development of the students. The day turned out to be as much a success story for the students as it was for the entire team of YCET. YCET gave special mention to the higher management Er. Vidhi S Singh, Chairman Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions, Managing Director Er. Renu Bangroo for embolden us to partake in Toycathon 2021. The students were fortunate that they got the chance to attend this Toycathon 2021 for increasing their knowledge and creative extravagance.
