Govt PG college Rajouri organizes alumni meet

Rajouri, June 22: Government Post Graduate College Rajouri organized an alumni meet in the virtual mode with the purpose to cherish, celebrate and refresh the old relationship with the glinting alumni of the college besides forming some new relationships and also involving them for synchronized efforts for the welfare of institution, society and nation as a whole.
A large number of Alumni hailing from variegated fields including politics, judiciary, higher education, school education, State administration, non-governmental organizations and social work joined the online meet enthusiastically.
The event was presided by Principal Prof (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina Principal of the college and Patron of the Alumni body whereas the prominent alumni who graced the occasion included Mr.Muzaffar Khan former judge, Mukhtar Chowdhary, Farooq Qesar , Dr.Ashfaq Ahmed Zarri, former Registrar BGSBU Rajouri and Chairman Alumni association, Rajeev Khajuria Ex-member SOSC and Vice Chairman Alumni association, Dr Zahir Abbas Mir HoD Maths BGSBU, Dr. Pankaj Chandan Chief Project Officer NDF, Bilal Mir Dy Director DSEO Rajouri, Shafiq Aarish, Saeed Chowdhary KAS , Sachi Sood AP BGSBU, Prof Riaz Mirza from GDC Poonch, Dr. Nahm Un Nisa from GDC Thannamandi and others.
The event proved to be a successful one as it provided a candid and meaningful platform to utilize the rich experiences of old students of the college for the holistic development of this higher seat of learning.
Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina in his opening address besides extending a warm welcome to the sparkling alumni also highlighted the phenomenal achievements of the college in variegated fields and presented a complete report card of academic and co-academic strides made in the last academic session. Almost all the participating alumni of the college appreciated the extraordinary efforts of the college management and also enlightened the gathering with their valuable suggestions. Many suggestions/opinions have been discussed in the meet with mutual agreement of the alumni and college management, teachers and students for the welfare of both alumni and institution as a whole included maintaining and updating database of all alumni, to promote campus placements through the old students working in reputed institutions. The event was coordinated by Dr Mohd Saleem Wani Convener College Alumni Committee along with other members including Prof Asif Lone, Prof Sankait Gupta, Prof Anwar Chouhan, Dr Gulshan Bhat, Dr Sheraz , Prof Zahir, Prof Rabia, Prof Qamar Rabbani and Anuj Bali. The meeting ended with a vote thanks by Prof Anwar Chouhan.
