GDC Vijaypur organizes virtual drawing competition on yoga

Jammu, June 22: Yoga is the key to fitness and wellness and plays a pivotal role in rejuvenating the body and mind leading to a healthy lifestyle. Yoga provides mental and physical relaxation and also boosts resilience and strength. It is that practice which can clean you up completely whether one talks of the physical garbage or the mental garbage.
It purifies the body by removing the toxins from the body and empowers us to take up the challenges in life however harsh the challenge may be. To celebrate the day, GDC Vijaypur organized a Drawing Competition focusing on deliberating information about Yoga through pencil art and unleashing the hidden talent, potential and creativity embedded in the youth. Students from various Institutions across the Nation participated in the contest with zeal, enthusiasm and fervor. A no. of entries were received reflecting unfeigned concerns of young minds towards the benefits of yoga in day-to-day life.
The first position was secured by Ashish Chouhan of DCRUST University (Delhi NCR); the second position was shared by Ojesvi Bhat of DCF Chandigarh and Munish Sharma of GDC Vijaypur while the third position was shared by Palvi of GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu and Abdul Khaliq of GDC Surankot. The consolation was given to Simran Bhalla of GDC Vijaypur. The event was conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College. She apprised the students that Yoga empowers mankind to discover happiness in making the world a happy place to live in and lights up the fire inside empowering an individual to lead a life full of zeal and excitement. She further exhorted that, “through the practice of Yoga, we discover the concern for the happiness and well being of others and in turn it become an essential part of our own quest for happiness and well-being. Life is like an open yoga mat and yoga is that perfect thought and action we make to feel joyful, healthy, satisfied, secure, thankful and peaceful.” The event was co-ordinated by Prof. Anil Bhagat and Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch. E-certificates were awarded to the winners.
