| DDC Poonch discusses implementation of Mission Youth action plan | | Special Youth clubs to be constituted in every Panchayat | |  Early Times Report
POONCH, June 22: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss with them the modalities regarding the effective implementation of the recently launched Mission Youth programme.
The DDC said that the government is very ardent about the empowerment of Youth and as such, various schemes have been launched from time to time for their progress.
The DDC said that Mission Youth envisions engaging with 80 percent of J&K’s youth population over the next five years and transforming them into a propelling force for socio-economic development of the Union Territory.
The DDC further said that the programme is aimed at providing a vibrant medium for youth engagement and empowerment to transform them into ambassadors of peace, prosperity, and development through a sieve of systematic interventions and positive benefaction across the domains of livelihood generation, education or skill development, psycho-social or career counselling, financial assistance, social recognition, sports, and recreation.
The DDC added that the mission would facilitate establishment of required organizational and administrative structure for proactive outreach and purposeful engagement of the youth of the Union Territory.
The concerned officer from the Animal husbandry department has been directed to inform the youth about the various dairy and poultry related schemes being implemented by the department in the district and motivate the youth to avail the benefits of the same.
The DDC asked the concerned from the KVIB, NABARD and other sponsoring agencies to give wide publicity about various types of loans so that the youth can take the maximum advantage of the various kinds of loan provided by the Department and set up their own business units for their socioeconomic growth.
The DDC asked the concerned officers to jointly formulate a suitable plan for the overall development and Welfare of the youth in the district, besides it was also decided in the meeting that special youth clubs would be constituted in all Panchayats which would specifically make efforts to address the concerns of the local youth. |
